[The subject of this video isn't Boone. Instead, it's the outer fence around the village. The only sound for a few moments is of a dog quietly whining, but then Boone speaks.]

Came across this not long ago.

["This" being evidence of some pretty strong explosions happening outside the fence. There are a couple of spider legs just lying around nearby, but nothing else.]

Fence seems fine, but what I wanna know is who or what the hell is blowing things up outside it. You don't need to blow up a spider to kill it.

Not a lot bothers Rex, but he's been doing this ever since we got here. Whining, keeping away from the fence. I've known him to run straight into groups of deathclaws before, so I figure if he's spooked, I probably don't wanna get too close to whatever it is that's spooking him. Saw some shapes moving around through the trees earlier, but I couldn't make out what they were. Tried watching through my scope, but it didn't help. Just... sort of looked like the trees were moving.

[Which is ridiculous really, because he knows the damn trees aren't moving.]

Just figured I'd give everyone a heads up, anyway. Not sure if it's happening in other places yet, but if you see or find out anything let me know.

[Narvin has experience with explosions. More than he'd like. So his first thought is: terrorists.]

Secure the area. I don't want anyone going in or out until I've scoured the place for evidence.

...evidence of explosive devices or accelerants, that is, since I am the resident technician around here.

[Not that he thinks many people are gonna be heading this way anyway.]

[With his eye to his scope, keeping an eye on the trees. Rex will let him know if anyone approaches, including Narvin.]

Property damage is a bit much for a spider. I guess someone got past confiscation and brought in some heavier arms. Best I'm guessin' right now.

Anyway I'm on my way. [And will double check to make sure that security has the recording.]

Yeah... just seems strange, like I said. You don't need explosives to kill a spider, and I don't think Rex would be acting up if it was just that.

[But since he doesn't know what it is, he'll just let the others do their work.]

Are any of the other animals out there bothered? Or just Rex?

Seems like it's just Rex... I can see a few animals out there. They don't seem all that bothered. Huh... no hounds out there, though.

[He glances down at Rex.]

Think that means anything?

That almost looks like a mine to me. [But he knows there aren't any out there- but it's getting his paranoia up. He goes outside that fence to work.]

Maybe I take some better guns with me when I go out.

Yeah, you'd better keep an eye out. Let me know if you do find any mines, but... I dunno. Something odd about this. Don't think it's that simple.

[Rex makes another whining sound, still refusing to go near the fence.]

Ah... Rex seems pretty upset by it. This would probably bother me, too- him being upset that is. Dogs are smart about that kind of thing.

Maybe he could do with something good to eat once you are off patrol.

I can give him something to chew, that's about it. He can't really eat real food anymore. Probably a good idea, though.

[He might've given him something here to try to calm him down, but the only thing around here is charred spider legs.]

Bothering me how he won't go near the fence. Like whatever was here before, he doesn't want to be a part of it even if he can't see anything.

Hmmmm... How peculiar.

In which direction did you see the trees moving? I wouldn't be averse to going out and seeing what there is to see.

I don't think anyone should be heading out in that direction, at least not until we've got a better idea of what we're dealing with here.

[It seems like just heading off into the trees right now is asking for trouble.]

Perhaps. I'm aware it may be a reckless thing to suggest, but it may be a definite way of finding out, or, at the very least, finding more clues.

[This is Braska, failing to see the problem with him going out on his own into a dangerous situation. He has traveled Spira and fought Sin; he's not afraid of what may happen. Not to mention that the idea of using SCIENCE!!1 to wait and watch isn't exactly something that occurs to him. CSI: Spira was never a thing in his time.]

Whatever you find out won't mean much if you die out there.

[Boone is okay with people checking out the explosion site, but he's not about to let anyone head out further yet. Aside from the fact that it's a bad idea in general, if Braska got himself killed out there it would be partially his fault. As part of security, the whole point is to protect people, not send them out to risk their necks.]

[Tauriel had seen this as well while out on patrol. Evidence of a large explosion and several dead spiders at the fence. She just had not wanted to make an announcement yet without further investigating. Spiders were not considered a big concern to her, as she had been dealing with oversized arachnids most of her life.]

I too have come across evidence of this. I was not going to make an announcement until I had investigated more thoroughly, but it seems something is happening that needs to be investigated.

[Spiders don't bother Boone, but the explosions and the shapes in the trees had him suspicious. Rex's reluctance to go near the fence made up his mind.]

We should probably be marking off the places where this is happening. You near any trees? I'm keeping an eye on the ones up here, but I haven't seen anything move for a while.

Indeed. This is more toward the town than the forest but yes there are trees. I have not seen much movement myself.

You're going to bring some of the samples of spider in to be analyzed, aren't you? Some punk might be taking shots at them with heavy ordinance. And we should probably go out and look for tracks where you saw movement. Might be hunters in camouflage.

Already got people on their way over here to check it out. Still not so sure it's a good idea to go out there yet, though. Like I said, things don't bother Rex, but he's pretty upset right now.

I don't blame you, if it's some would-be big game hunters with guns run by god knows who-- better to wait till they've cleared off.

I'd like to get a party together after the noise has died down, though, with a good tracker, maybe a weapons expert.

I sure didn't. Nobody else has said anything about hearing one, either.

[It must've happened while everyone was a good distance from the area. Maybe if he'd gotten here quicker, he could've seen who was behind it. Annoying, but there's not much he can do about that.]

At any rate, if your dog is the type to run head first into Deathclaws but wont go near the fence, than whoever or whatever is behind this needs to be taken care of soon.
