[The subject of this video isn't Boone. Instead, it's the outer fence around the village. The only sound for a few moments is of a dog quietly whining, but then Boone speaks.]
Came across this not long ago.
["This" being evidence of some pretty strong explosions happening outside the fence. There are a couple of spider legs just lying around nearby, but nothing else.]
Fence seems fine, but what I wanna know is who or what the hell is blowing things up outside it. You don't need to blow up a spider to kill it.
Not a lot bothers Rex, but he's been doing this ever since we got here. Whining, keeping away from the fence. I've known him to run straight into groups of deathclaws before, so I figure if he's spooked, I probably don't wanna get too close to whatever it is that's spooking him. Saw some shapes moving around through the trees earlier, but I couldn't make out what they were. Tried watching through my scope, but it didn't help. Just... sort of looked like the trees were moving.
[Which is ridiculous really, because he knows the damn trees aren't moving.]
Just figured I'd give everyone a heads up, anyway. Not sure if it's happening in other places yet, but if you see or find out anything let me know.

Maybe he could do with something good to eat once you are off patrol.

[He might've given him something here to try to calm him down, but the only thing around here is charred spider legs.]
Bothering me how he won't go near the fence. Like whatever was here before, he doesn't want to be a part of it even if he can't see anything.

[He can't see any dogs around here except for Rex, and he's not happy. If Niko's dog doesn't like it either, he'll know it's not just Rex being weird about it.
He doesn't know if that's a good thing or not, though.]
no subject
[He'll just start heading that way with his horrible four-eyed dog-beast. Which isn't really horrible.]
no subject
Hey. Still no sign of anything out there.
no subject
[He gives him a lazy wave of his own, the hound following him as he heads over. The closer he gets, though, the more the dog's fur bristles up. It keeps following Niko, it's dead set on doing that, but there's something it doesn't like about the place.]
no subject
Don't think he likes it much, either.
no subject
[He watches the metal dog start to look as pitiful as any other dog, and since he doesn't currently have his rifle with a scope he motions to Boone.]
You say you see movement. Can I take a look?
no subject
Haven't seen anything for a little while, but that doesn't mean they're not out there still. Maybe they know they're being watched now.
[Or maybe they moved on, but he doesn't think Rex would still be freaking out if that was the case.]
no subject
I suppose if there's something out there everywhere, I will find out about it soon enough. [He is a guide, after all.]
[The nameless hound's bristles eventually start to go down, even though Niko doesn't see anything leave. He hands the rifle back and the animal yawns in a way that's more like a possum than a dog- mouth going a little too open, but at least he's relaxing. For now.]
no subject
[She hadn't seen anything in the trees, though. Boone is starting to wonder if he's just looking into the movement he saw too much, but it still seems odd that he never noticed anything like that before this happened.]
no subject
Oh well. If they get me, not the first explosion I've seen. So I'll be alright.
[Nothing's managed to kill him yet, and hey, the dog getting a mohawk is fair(?) warning.]
no subject
If they get you you won't be alright. Not if they've got explosives. Unless you're made out of whatever stuff the fence is made from, I think you should be a little more careful.
[Not that he can really talk. He has a habit of becoming reckless when danger is about, though it's not so bad now that Elle helped him through his memories of Bitter Springs.]
no subject
[But he's looking at that explosion again, now.]
It still looks a little like a mine to me. Like it wasn't fired in, but it just went off where it was left. [He tries to make a motion from one hand into the other, as if it's the wall, like you would throw a grenade or shoot a rocket. To him it looks like it just went off.]
no subject
Yeah. Couldn't find any mines around this side of the fence or further out, though. Don't really get why you'd only put down one mine, not unless you knew something was headed this way for sure and would set it off.
no subject
[He looks at the hound and it cocks its head at him. Then just... barks. Barks like an Earth dog at least.]
no subject
Don't even know why I'm still here. Nothing's happened for a long while. Now we know your dog didn't like it either, but that doesn't help us any.
[He looks over at Niko.]
I'm gonna keep walking, see if there's anything further up. You can come if you want.
no subject
[He loosely motions to the hound and it just gets ready to trot along. It doesn't seem so bothered now. Which he'll take as a good sign.]
no subject
Two explosions by the fence that we know about, and nobody saw or heard a damn thing. Where was everybody?
no subject
[Niko pulls out an actual paper map of the area. He's holds it with a crinkle, against his hand, and is finding their location along the fence as they walk.]
no subject
[Goofing off? It's the only reason he can think of.]
I don't know what went on around here, but I don't like it. Would've been bad enough without the way Rex was acting up.
no subject
It's really strange that there are no tracks back there. [As he watches the ground where they walk, it's still striking him as odd.]
no subject
Back home, if people wanted to fight I'd let them get on with it. Not my damn problem. Guess I can't really think like that here.
[Not as part of security, anyway. What's the point in patrolling if you're only going to walk off when people cause trouble?]
I dunno. We've got hovering cars and stuff here, if there aren't any tracks maybe they didn't get away on foot.
no subject
Well, I'm sorry ahead of time, and I'll not put up a fuss whenever you have to arrest me for a fight, ah? In my world all the security is jerks, but you seem like nice guy.
Maybe. But then you think you would be able to see a car.
[He forgot about the hovering vehicles and while he likes the option of keeping a quiet trail, not being able to follow tracks annoys him.]
