[Well, someone has embraced this tin foil hat thing a little too enthusiastically. That hat is probably the first thing everyone notices about this broadcast. Goddamn, look at that thing. As if he didn't already look ridiculous enough in those robes.
The person who's wearing it -- a man, with a long, well-aged face -- is smiling, all warm and serene and welcoming.]
Greetings. I am Braska, a... mage hailing from the world of Spira. [He almost said summoner. Whoops. That's not the important part of his announcement, here. And, besides. Technically, he used to be a summoner. But all that ended... a while ago.] I am offering my services as a healer to Blackstaff. While it is true that I am an experienced White Mage, I am also skilled in the way of natural remedies -- that is to say, the creation and use of herbal cures. So, if you are not comfortable with magic, then there is an alternative for us to use instead.
I accept many forms of payment, so if you are low on gi -- [gil] money, then, fear not, we may trade instead. "Trade" is a... loose term. I do not speak merely of goods; I'm willing to even accept deeds, such as helping me gather the herbs I need for my remedies. [♥]
That said, this is more than an advertisement. [Braska laughs.] As I said, I am offering my services. Should you feel the need, you may come to me for help with your neuralflu. As you can see, I am well-prepared, [he adjusts his hat, grin widening,] and I would appreciate the opportunity to get a better look at the illness myself. The better acquainted I am with ailments, the better I can aid in easing their symptoms, if not curing them altogether. [He holds up his hands, bowing his head placatingly.] No experimentation needed, if you are uncomfortable with the idea; I merely need to watch, and to study.
Ah, and one last thing. [... and then, right at the end, his professionalism drops, and his smile becomes -- goofy.] Does anyone happen to know where I might purchase some grubs from that advertisement?

Well, it doesn't hurt to make contact. He doesn't need to give up his medical history secrets until he's good an ready.]
You say your a mage and a healer, but how can we know you're not a charlatan?
[Narvin sometimes starts conversations like they're battles. Battles of tactlessness.]
Private
I am always willing to give demonstrations, of which you may specify the requirements.

White Mages focus on the curative magics, mending the wounded, cleansing the poisoned. The mage must know how the body works in order to heal it; years of studying are necessary. We must know how a poison acts in order to cure it. Broken bones must be aligned properly, or else the magic will heal it improperly. There are, of course, exceptions; the especially talented and experienced may set the bones with their magic, but you don't see our kind very often. [Braska's eyes twinkle.] And, I will admit, it's a difficult and tiring feat, but often necessary in a struggle for survival.
This is why I'm especially interested in seeing neuralflu in person. Once I study it, in book and in observation and in Scanning, I will be much more effective in treating it. [A pause.] Scan, that is to say, is also a White Magic spell, and it is used to examine vitals; your health, how injured you are, what ailments you suffer from, that sort of thing.

So if someone acquired a cut or a bruise, you'd be able to heal it without technology.

But uh... so you might have something that will make this headache go away for more than a few hours? [Color Niko interested.]
no subject
--Oh, whoops. And just like that, the professionalism falls back into place.] That is correct. [A pause.] With some trial and error, at least. A few hours I can guarantee; longer than that, I will need to get a better look at the illness myself.
no subject
A better look at it? How do you mean?
no subject
Mmmm... How to explain this... [Braska taps a long forefinger against the side of his jaw thoughtfully.] Ah. In order to heal what ails the body, one must know how the body works, yes? You have to know why an illness is making you ill. And, wouldn't you say that, eventually, you need to do and see something yourself in order to truly understand it?

Usually this sort of thing is good if people pay, but not so good if they don't know what they're doing yet.

You went all out on your tinfoil there.
[Just an observation, not negative or positive either way. Sort of a, "Well look at that, that is quite a thing," sort of statement.]

Ah, yes, thank you. [Braska, that wasn't exactly a compliment. Oh, but he knows that, but, eh, it seems appropriate anyway.] I found it in one of the shops. I'm quite fond of it, to be honest.
no subject
[That one is a genuine compliment, so no worries there.]
no subject
It's rather inspiring, I think. Perhaps I shall take up a crafting trade myself... [Hmmm, hmmm.] I've quite a lot more free time ahead of me than I'm used to, after all.

I may be found in a small shack outside of town. There is a large sign over the doorway and a small garden all around it.
Have you any questions? [Since everyone else seems to. This doesn't bother him, far from it; he just wants to make sure she knows everything she'll need to in order to be comfortable with this.]
Re: private, video
I am wary of human medicine. What does your healing entail?
private, video
There are two options I may present to you. The first is herbal medicine, made freshly and to order. With what I have learned through my studies thus far, I can ease the severity of the symptoms for several hours. The second is with White Magic, which I believe will last longer...
But the more experienced I am with this illness, the more effective I will be in treating it, both with herbs and with magic. Practice, after all, makes perfect, but this would mean that continued visits would likely yield much more fruit, if you are willing.
Of course, I would not charge for each and every visit. It would be more fair to, ah, how do they say it... "Bundle"? [Braska's smile turns from professional and calming to amused.] Pay for several visits at once, at a discounted price.
Re: private, video
[Tauriel certainly hopes only a day or so will pass. Anything longer than that might make her go stir crazy.]
Payment is not a concern as I work for the resort in keeping this place secure. The swifter I return to my duties the faster you will receive full payment for your time

Sir, if you are searchin' for any kinda help with your shop, you asked the right person! I might not be needin' your services at this particular moment, but I will be honored to offer my time and effort to maintainin' your shop.
I'm not sure where to buy those grubs, though. Min' if I help you out with that?
Private
Hmmmm. I suppose I could find some odds and ends for you to do. I can't promise it'll be a terribly exciting job most of the time, however. Most of the time, I would imagine you'd be helping me stay organized. During emergencies, I agree that it would be nice to have an extra pair of hands, but... I don't need much to get by.
It would make more sense, I think, for it to be part-time? So you would be free to do anything else you'd wish. I would feel terrible to take up too much of your time when I wouldn't need much of it.
Private
That's okay, I don't need that much more emeralds to get by! I already get some from playin' m'banjo for the guests, but workin' at your place from time to time wouldn't hurt.
Private
Braska's smile relaxes.] Alright, then. It sounds as though we have an agreement.
Now~ We have ourselves a little adventure. [c: Grubs!!]
Private
So we're gonna look for grubs together? Should we meet up somewhere? I should probably bing a box or somethin' to hold it in or some food if they're hungry. Don't think holdin' them's a good idea. But they're so tiny it would be adorable! We're gonna find some cute grubs! [He lets out a little squeak at the end]
