[The video feed is fuzzy for a few seconds before Wander shows up in a dark room.]
Whew! At least this still works!
Anyway, I was explorin' town a while ago when I kinda fell through the floor of this one abandoned building. I thought I saw somethin' in there and crawled in through a crack in the wall, but it turns out that holes can hide themselves pretty well in the dark.
[He points the feed to the ceiling, made of dirt with wooden beams supporting it. There's a caved-in opening up there wide enough for a regular person to fit through.]
I dunno how I'm gonna get out. That hole's kinda high. [He turns the feed back to him.] Oh well, guess I'll have to look for another way. It looks like there's a buncha tunnels in here, so might as well-
[An echoing hiss can be heard off camera in the distance, familiar to anyone who's met a creeper.]
[Wander's face finally shows some sign of unease as he whispers the rest.] Or I could look for things to stack up and climb outta here.
((OOC: This is kind of a planning post for exploring the hidden spawner room. Whoever volunteers to help Wander out is going to end up exploring the abandoned mineshafts with him in a later log to find the spawner room.))

Stay put, little fellow-- Which house were you in? I'll bring a rope.

[Ben goes out of the view of the screen camera as he starts to assemble his field gear.]
We'll get you out, don't worry. Stay calm and we'll be there as soon as we can.
no subject
How long are you takin' to get here?
no subject
It'll take about a quarter hour to get out there, but I'll find the house you're in as fast as I can. What can you see around you? It might give me a clue.
no subject
But you mean the place where I was? [He cracks a grin.] It's an old, big building. I think it was a warehouse? It's where all the boats carryin' cargo are, only a bit far from the river.
no subject
This room too--are the walls damp? Does it look like any more dirt or ceiling will slide? [He's asking as he heads out, rifle strapped to his back and field gear counted and checked for props.]

no subject
Right! Stay on the line, I'm on my way.
no subject
They will hang around the bottom, but maybe someone who is armed can get to you soon.
[Niko doesn't know if that's his job or security's. Probably patrol, since it's technically village and he's just supposed to, you know, get his people out when that happens.]

He tries to push it, but it's stuck. Not to be easily discouraged, he leaves the communicator while he checks something off-camera, then runs back to pick it up. ]
I kinda found some boxes all stacked up. This big enough? [He points the feed to a small stack of three-medium sized boxes In the corner.]
no subject
It means a bit of waiting for help, but in this they can't get to you.
no subject
He's fine with resting up there for a while, after falling down a distance, but he's going to get bored eventually.]

Another deep breath is in order. He can't go rushing off to find Wander, not when there are people who are better equipped and better prepared on their way already. Stay calm. Calm. He tries to laugh quietly, but it still comes out nervous.] Will you do me a favor? Let me know the next time you decide to go exploring, alright?
no subject
I'm sorry I left you behind. I found this ol' buildin' in the docks and really wanted to take a peek, but I didn't know I'd fall in!
no subject
Anything can happen when you're exploring. That's the first rule of adventure books, isn't it?
no subject
But I'll wait 'til everyone else gets here before I check out this place.
no subject
Good. [... oops, that came out a little more desperate than he intended.] ... Be careful, my friend. And always be on alert. If those explosive fiends are there...
no subject
It's okay. Everyone told me get somewhere high where they can't reach me. An' if one ever gets too close, I can jus' pretend I'm a cat![Anything to cheer up his friend.]
no subject
Enough to make a small joke, at least.] How good is your cat impression?
no subject
...and to make it better, he pretends to lick his hand.]
no subject
Braska can't help it; more laughter just starts bubbling out of him. He can't immediately respond.]
N-Not too bad!
no subject
So Wander now lies on the box on his side and curls up.]
Myaaa.
no subject
That doesn't look terribly alert to me. [The mirth is still there in his voice, at least.]
no subject
Cats are one of the cuddliest and alert animals in the universe, right? So everythin' gonna be okay.
[He turns back, still lying on his side.] Don't worry too much! I've been in dangerous situations before, and I'm good at avoidin' things.
no subject
[It's just... different. It's not as though Wander is Auron or Jecht.
...
Why hasn't he had this thought before?]
Wander, tell me... How would you feel about learning magic?
no subject
Y'mean the things you can do? Like curin' people of everythin'?
...That would be so awesome! [He says that a bit more loudly that he should have.] I always wondered what it'd be like to have magic powers to save the day!
no subject
Yes... Yes, like that. Among other things. Magic to defend yourself. They don't have to be offensive spells. There are spells to help you move faster, to lessen the impact from attacks, so on and so forth... [He doesn't think that Black Magic would really be Wander's thing, basically.]
no subject
Can I also just magic to help me fly? Or do some of the work you also do? Or do I have to be an apprentice for years and years studyin' under you?
