[The video feed is fuzzy for a few seconds before Wander shows up in a dark room.]

Whew! At least this still works!

Anyway, I was explorin' town a while ago when I kinda fell through the floor of this one abandoned building. I thought I saw somethin' in there and crawled in through a crack in the wall, but it turns out that holes can hide themselves pretty well in the dark.

[He points the feed to the ceiling, made of dirt with wooden beams supporting it. There's a caved-in opening up there wide enough for a regular person to fit through.]

I dunno how I'm gonna get out. That hole's kinda high. [He turns the feed back to him.] Oh well, guess I'll have to look for another way. It looks like there's a buncha tunnels in here, so might as well-

[An echoing hiss can be heard off camera in the distance, familiar to anyone who's met a creeper.]

[Wander's face finally shows some sign of unease as he whispers the rest.] Or I could look for things to stack up and climb outta here.

((OOC: This is kind of a planning post for exploring the hidden spawner room. Whoever volunteers to help Wander out is going to end up exploring the abandoned mineshafts with him in a later log to find the spawner room.))

[That's........... okay, although normally Braska wouldn't argue that, he wants to, right now, because he isn't there to make sure Wander's safe. 8( Fretfretfret.]

Good. [... oops, that came out a little more desperate than he intended.] ... Be careful, my friend. And always be on alert. If those explosive fiends are there...

[Ah...so that's why he's so worried. Wander's never met one of the creepers, but seeing his summoner friend so worked up over meeting just one taught him that they could be dangerous.]

It's okay. Everyone told me get somewhere high where they can't reach me. An' if one ever gets too close, I can jus' pretend I'm a cat![Anything to cheer up his friend.]

[Braska does have to laugh at the mental image of little Wander standing on a pile of boxes meowing down at a creeper. And in laughing, he starts to relax a little. But only a little.

Enough to make a small joke, at least.] How good is your cat impression?

Meoooow. [He's also hunched over like a little kitty.

...and to make it better, he pretends to lick his hand.]

Braska can't help it; more laughter just starts bubbling out of him. He can't immediately respond.]

N-Not too bad!

[Yes, good. It's helping Braska laugh.

So Wander now lies on the box on his side and curls up.]

Myaaa.

[It's Braska's natural instinct to just want to indulge in this. The silliness, the laughter. But he knows that it isn't exactly the best idea right now. Because:]

That doesn't look terribly alert to me. [The mirth is still there in his voice, at least.]

[He adds a purring noise and rolls over. Facing away from the camera, he pouts. Of course he's watching out for Creepers! But won't making cat noises help keep them away?]

Cats are one of the cuddliest and alert animals in the universe, right? So everythin' gonna be okay.

[He turns back, still lying on his side.] Don't worry too much! I've been in dangerous situations before, and I'm good at avoidin' things.

Of course, [Braska cedes quickly, because, really, he knows he knows better.] Of course, you're right. I'm sorry. I don't mean to doubt you.

[It's just... different. It's not as though Wander is Auron or Jecht.

Why hasn't he had this thought before?]

Wander, tell me... How would you feel about learning magic?

[Magic? Wander stops playing with his fur at that word.]

Y'mean the things you can do? Like curin' people of everythin'?

...That would be so awesome! [He says that a bit more loudly that he should have.] I always wondered what it'd be like to have magic powers to save the day!

Yes... Yes, like that. Among other things. Magic to defend yourself. They don't have to be offensive spells. There are spells to help you move faster, to lessen the impact from attacks, so on and so forth... [He doesn't think that Black Magic would really be Wander's thing, basically.]

Can I also just magic to help me fly? Or do some of the work you also do? Or do I have to be an apprentice for years and years studyin' under you?
