I suppose... the fact that this isn't Gallifrey. And I don't have the kind of wanderlust that characterises renegades and so on.

We go where we must. You're dead in the prime universe's established history of events. That means you cannot return without disrupting the web of time. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't help Gallifrey from afar, but they'll never know of your actions. No accolades, no praise.

I'm not going where I must, I wind up here and there. I'm not in the CIA. There are no orders or even the capacity to help from afar. And as for accolades and praise… quite honestly I don't know what you'd like me to say to that, it's so out of left field. Is it an insult?
