[By the looks of things, Lindir is sitting down in a high backed chair in one of Blackstaff's guest rooms. He says nothing, but continues poking at the screen, furrowing his brows and frowning. As there's a beep from the device, he turns his head to listen to it, then looks back again. He lets out a deep sigh. This was going to be a lot harder than he thought it would be. Why did he ever agree to this?]

Nah. They learned to deal with the spiders long before we showed up. That's what the fence is for, and half of our job. If we see one start to come over, we're supposed to shoot it.

They've been easy enough to take out. I've never had any problems with bugs before and these don't have too much brain to 'em.

[The ones he deals with are sentient, so it's a relief to not have to talk to them.] Are there spider problems back where you're from?

Thankfully there are no spiders of that sort in Imladris, though the same cannot be said in other parts of Middle-earth. The Woodland Realm continues to be plagued with them I hear.

Hopefully they're about as easy to handle. These'll go down in one to three shots, depending on your aim or the type of weapon you're usin'. You won't do so well hand to hand.

[Lindir swallows hard.]

I fear I have little skill in the felling of spiders. Forgive me if I must depend you and the other guards.

They don't usually make it inside the fences, so you shouldn't have much to worry about. [And he notes the poor guy sounds like he's worried.]

Where is that? Imladris.

[Lindir frowns briefly as he hears the voice. This device was so unpredictable! However, it was lecture mode time, because Lindir always took great pride in his home and the House of Lord Elrond.]

Imladris, or Rivendell as your people might call it, lays in a valley west of the Misty Mountains, in a valley on the River Bruinen. It is the home of My Lord Elrond, and is protected by his will. There is no better Elf-haven in Middle-earth.

My people don't call it anything. Middle-earth is a country? A continent?

[This person didn't know about Middle-earth?!]

I... a continent, I suppose.

I do not understand the question. What exactly is a planet?
