[Have a man who smiles tightly, with no real warmth behind it. Like a courier who's come with some horrible news.]
Hi. I'm Peter Bishop and let's just get this out of the way: yes, for all intents and purposes I am Walter Bishop's son. Please try not to hold that against me. Oh-- and if he gets into any trouble, let me know. [He thinks for a second, head dipped down slightly] Actually, make that when he gets into any trouble.
Anyway, I've got some experience with the FBI so the Resort's decided to bring me on as an investigator. Try not to hold that against me either. I'm not here to bust anybody's chops. Just want to make sure the wrong tech doesn't fall into the wrong hands. So if you need any help, uh. [And like that, he's lost momentum. How do you end these things.]
I'll be around.

I'll be around.

...it's a terrifying prospect.]
Narvinektralonum. Programming and engineering specialist.
Perhaps you can start by investigating where your father's sense of propriety vanished off to.
no subject
You're assuming he had any to begin with. What'd he do?
no subject
[And Narvin is such a tight-laced prude that half the things Walter says strike him as vaguely inappropriate.]
He's a highly intelligent human, I'll give him that, but when he's speaking about anything other than research...
no subject
I think I understand. Walter's... definitely an acquired taste.
no subject
I have no intention of tasting Dr. Bishop.
Ever.
roflcopter
Can't say I blame you. With all the stuff he's put into his system it'd probably be like licking a cane toad.
no subject
I didn't know that he was involved in DNA alterations.
[Narvin doesn't know what a cane toad is, or the significance of the reference, so he thinks that the things Walter put in his system that Peter is referring to are chemicals rewriting his genetic structure to be more cane toad-like.]
no subject
Don't give him any ideas, though.
no subject
[She's smiling a little, but she's trying to come off as neutral as possible.]
no subject
You part of the security team too?
no subject
Nah. I'm an explorer, but I do a lot of freelance on the side. I'd be up for working a bit for security.
no subject
no subject
That's fine. I'll talk to him if I need a job.
no subject
And I'll keep you in mind... once I get a case.
no subject
[Grainne, in fact, does not seem like she's joking.]
no subject
We're talking about the same Walter Bishop, right? Old? Forgetful? Likes to keep the canned peaches next to his jars of body parts?
no subject

Well, that's good, isn't it? I'll need the downtime.
no subject
How do you feel about spiders?
[This here: an extremely unpleasant smile.]
no subject
Um. Same way most people do, I guess. Is there a spider mystery I'm gonna need to solve?
no subject
[She wiggles her gloved fingers. Mystery~~~]

Is the translator working correctly? How can you put a raid in a can?]
What is that, what does that mean?
no subject
I'm Agent K. I'm the chief of Import Security here, which is currently a very small department so the help is very much appreciated.
Hate to put you to work so quick, but when you get a chance drop by the office and I'll talk to you.
no subject
I can be there in ten.
no subject
[He hardly leaves work.]

[Ben's view of the world can be a bit...tunneled. Walter seemed like a fellow scientist, and Ben gave him the benefit of the doubt without thinking. His default assumption is that his fellow humans will all behave rationally.
Yes, he's frequently disappointed. But Walter's done nothing to lose his trust, yet.]
no subject
[And then he realizes what he just said]
We... don't, right? Just the one in the cardigans?
no subject
Cardigans and a healthy interest in xenoecology. That's him.
no subject
He's a brilliant man. But if there's one thing you should know about Walter, besides the snappy dress sense and the weird hobbies... it's that he needs supervision. Constant supervision.
no subject
[Overjoyed Walter is very overjoyed.]
I didn't think you wanted to come along. So you changed your mind! It'll be good for you, taking some time away and putting that mind of yours to work.
Where's Olivia? I assume you two have some catching up to do, all things considered.
[There's that Look, the one Walter gets on his face when he's talking about birth control methods and sexual positions best left in the Kama Sutra.]
no subject
I don't think she really wants to see me right now, Walter.
