[domesheriff]

[Linda is sitting on a bench in the garden when she activates the feed. she's dressed casually in a coat and jeans, though her right hand visibly has a bandage around it. she looks tired, and she's obviously fallen in some mud at some point today as well]

Anybody else having trouble learning to ride their animals? [there's weariness in her tone. but a thought occurs to her then, and she adds:] Are many people going to be in the race? I know it's optional.

[while the mud is a result of her rocky attempts to learn to ride a "yoshi," her burned hand isn't. it's been a busy day, starting with testing forcefields with Agent K to try to find one like the dome followed by her riding session on the farm. needless to say, relaxing for a bit chatting with friends strikes her as a good way to end an exhausting day]

[Linda just...stares at that picture] Um. Wow. That looks...kind of small. [and utterly ridiculous] You've already tried to ride it? [because it looks to her like it might just fall over if you tried to get on it]

It's bigger than it looks.

[Big enough that it doesn't seem to care when Boone tries riding it.]

Yeah, I tried. Didn't work out so well.

[He'd almost immediately fallen off it when it actually started moving. He's kind of glad nobody was around to see it.]

[domesheriff]

I'll take your word for it. [that's a relief for her to hear, though, since putting Boone on a small animal just sounds like a bad idea all around]

[she winces] What happened?

[thumbsdown]

Fell off it, and it kept moving.

[It hadn't been going fast, at least. He wonders if it's even capable of going fast. It doesn't seem like it wants to.]

[domesheriff]

Ouch. [another wince] The yoshi did that to me, too. I guess there's probably a trick to staying on, but I haven't worked it out yet.

Do you know if there's anybody around here who knows much about riding?

[thumbsdown]

Not that I know. Gotta be someone, though.

[Boone glances back at the llama.]

For now, guess we'll just have to keep trying. Maybe we'll figure it out.

[domesheriff]

[she nods. she's definitely done for today, but she'll probably try again after her shift tomorrow] Good luck. I'll let you know if I get the hang of it. [or if she finds someone who can help them do so]

[thumbsdown]

Yeah. You too. I'll see you around.

[He'll probably be sporting a few bruises when Linda sees him again, but he intends to keep trying with the llama.]
