[Video] Announcing a December Event

[Wander clears his throat before he makes the announcement.]

Hey! So, I was talkin' with some folks here an' their plans for this month, and some of them mentioned that lotsa humans have holidays at this time of year! An' they give each other presents! So I was thinkin': why don't we celebrate it together!

Now, we all love gifts, so I came up with somethin' we all can do. [He takes off his hat and holds up upside down.] We can all get someone's name at random, like, drawin' 'em from a hat. Then, we need to buy or make a present for that person, but without tellin' 'em anythin'. Then we can all meet up for a party next month and exchange them!

So whaddya say? Anyone wanna join in on the fun?

It depends on which peoples you take the holiday from. The modern variety is about nothing in particular, it is made into what people wish it to be.

I suppose. Traveling different worlds is new to me and I have not really conversed with anyone about holidays. I do know my world had many difference ways of celebrating the winter solstice. Too many to really tell at length, and it has changed throughout history.

For my people the winter solstice was very important. It marked the beginning of the return of spring, when the days would grow long again. We had calendars that recorded the light of the sun and moon. Hm. Our astronomy was far more advanced than how modern historians wish to view us...

[That last part seems more to herself, and thoughtful.]

I'm sorry, I went a little off track. Really, it seems to me this is a new world we are making. New worlds should have holidays of their own and their own unique way of celebrating, don't you think?

[A pause.]

Does Quadratus have a winter solstice?

I think it depends on the planet tilt.

[Basic knowledge from the Grail doesn't make her an expert.]
