[Tauriel has been pretty busy lately with her various tasks, projects and self imposed duties, so it's been awhile since she actively appeared to talk to anyone on her own terms. Currently she was outside-- possibly on a rooftop as there seems to be nothing but sky behind her.]

I have been studying a great many things lately in an attempt to better understand the world of technology and industry. Unfortunately, I think I have gone as far as I can on my own without some sort of guidance. Even suggestions on what subjects I should focus on will be of help.

There is something else I would also like some assistance with as well, though I think there will be fewer people who can help me. Up until now I have fought using bow and dagger--to great effect, but I am interested in learning other means of combat, such as the use of firearms? There is the tiniest frown as s he says the word "firearms" [It had taken her nearly an hour to come to terms that it was an actual word.] I feel as part of the security team, such skills would be beneficial to have.

We only ever marry for love. Our parents might deny the union for whatever reason, but if two elves are set, they may still wed. As I said.. marriage for us is in the... [This is where she turns very pink.] consummation. It is not a cultural thing but the entwining of our souls.

Maybe humans in your world are different. After seeing them do some of the things I've seen, I can't think of it.

And you would rather think of yourself a soulless? Does that not sadden you?

It does. But I still believe it to be true.

I refuse to believe that. Eru gave to elves and men fae in Arda, and I doubt that the race of man found else where would be any different. Perhaps if you fear a darkness in the human soul, it is because it is corrupted or marred in some way as the souls upon Arda were by the darkness that was Morgoth.

If that is the case, and there are souls, then only very few of the humans in my world have ones that are not rotten through.

That I cannot say one way or another. It is not my place to pass judgement on the creations of Eru.

Maybe your Eru guy is nicer than whatever it us that made us. But I am at least glad to know your people still do their best to hold onto themselves.

There have been a few. Between ourselves and between another race. He would know best about those things as a lorekeeper within Imladris. My knowledge is lacking as my people focused more on survival and less on the deeds of those in the past... aside from the cautionary tales we were told of course.
