[Tauriel has been pretty busy lately with her various tasks, projects and self imposed duties, so it's been awhile since she actively appeared to talk to anyone on her own terms. Currently she was outside-- possibly on a rooftop as there seems to be nothing but sky behind her.]

I have been studying a great many things lately in an attempt to better understand the world of technology and industry. Unfortunately, I think I have gone as far as I can on my own without some sort of guidance. Even suggestions on what subjects I should focus on will be of help.

There is something else I would also like some assistance with as well, though I think there will be fewer people who can help me. Up until now I have fought using bow and dagger--to great effect, but I am interested in learning other means of combat, such as the use of firearms? There is the tiniest frown as s he says the word "firearms" [It had taken her nearly an hour to come to terms that it was an actual word.] I feel as part of the security team, such skills would be beneficial to have.

I could probably help you out on energy and laser weapons, since they got a lotta those around here too. Most of 'em variations on the same theme.

I would like that very much! Though I have not studied them as much yet. Do they work on the same principle as those that fire bullets?

[Mostly because the science behind them is well and truly beyond her.]

On the principle of point and shoot, they're pretty much the same. But not bullets. I think it'd be better to see the different types in practice.

I would like to test out the firing of one, to see how they differ from those with bullets and again to see how it is different from firing arrows.

Boone is teaching me about the guns of bullets soon, but afterwards I should be free before I am needed for my patrol duties. Is that suitable for you then?
