I wish to turn myself in. Any security personnel, you may come to my rooms at the resort and arrest me. I am unarmed and will not resist arrest.

I am guilty, very guilty. I have stolen artifacts and assisted in smuggling them off the planet, I have been guilty of associating with criminal organizations, I have willfully attempted to cause another man's death. I should be locked safely away for the good of the community.

[And safely away where Jabba and his bounty hunters and Orion thugs can't get to him, looking for a diamond sword that he doesn't have. Belloq knows that Jabba doesn't forgive people he thinks have stolen from him. Time in prison, with possibility of parole or escape, is better than becoming dinner for Jabba's pets.]

Do you not believe that a man can acquire a guilty conscience?

[Belloq doesn't sound like a man with a guilty conscience.]

Artifacts are sold through the Orions almost exclusively here. The Orions are the only gang that has no interest in the well-being of Blackway. They're also the ones that will literally take lost expenses directly out of your hide and sell them on the black market.

I think that might egg on a guilty conscience a little bit.

Come in. How much you divulge about your buyers will probably dictate any sort of plea bargain. The most we can verify through psychic interference is a non-specific lie detector scan, so while we can only take information you willingly give we will know if you're bullshitting us.

[archeologue]

[Belloq thinks to himself that Chief Kay knows the Orions' modus operandi well.]

I have nothing to hide. I would not be turning myself in now if I were not ready to talk. I will tell you all I know of the Orions' operations.

[Yes, it will get him in further trouble with the Orions, but one can't be more dead than dead, so it doesn't really matter very much. And anything that inconveniences them increases his own chances.]

Welp. Just hang in there and someone will be by to pick you up. We'll see how it goes. Current location?

[He gives his hotel room number.]

I will be waiting.

The door is locked to keep out [Orions] intruders, but I will open it when the phrase quis custodiet is spoken.

[Just saying he'll open to security isn't safe enough. Any smart bounty hunter could claim that they come from security, open the door, sir.]

[Though he's probably the last person Belloq wants to see outside his door, Boone is the one who shows up to collect him. As much as he'd like to leave him to deal with everyone he's pissed off, his job comes before his grudges. So he knocks on Belloq's door sharply, waiting with his arms folded and a scowl on his face. Despite knowing Belloq will recognise his voice, he's sure he probably still has to try giving the password Belloq chose.]

Quis cu...

[Nope, he can't pronounce it. He grunts.]

Just open the goddamn door.

[What the hell kind of Latin is that? Ah well, close enough to be sure that it isn't Orions.

Belloq opens the door and then takes a step back, arms away from his body to show that he has no weapon in his hands and isn't reaching for one.]

Typical police, no classical education.

[He shouldn't provoke, but he couldn't resist. But to deflect from it he adds:]

I surrender.

[Boone hates Latin, and right now he hates Belloq too, so he's not feeling particularly insulted. He says nothing in response to the jab, just strides into the room and brandishes a set of handcuffs.]

Hands behind your back.

[He knows Belloq wouldn't stand a fighting chance if he tried to attack him or run. He's still going to drag him back to the station in handcuffs, though.]

[Belloq sighs. It's humiliating to be carted across town in chains, but he can survive humiliation.

He puts his hands wrist to wrist behind his back and turns around to be cuffed.]

[With the handcuffs in place, Boone nudges Belloq towards the door.]

Get moving.

[The nudge isn't particularly gentle, but it's not enough to hurt or trip Belloq. He doesn't see any point in pushing him around excessively when he's in cuffs, no matter how pissed off he is. He already made his point with his machete. He doesn't see much point in talking about what happened, either. Niko is right- Belloq will never regret what he did, and he's sure other people have already brought up anything he would've said. The best thing he can do is leave Belloq to rot alone in jail, and be there for Niko when he needs him.]

[Belloq smiles grimly and starts to walk. Whatever comes, he means to survive it. He doesn't expect his time in jail to be pleasant, but this is where his choices have led him. Perhaps they'll at least allow him some books. Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" would probably be appropriate.]
