It's not all bad. You can still find good people around, mostly in the towns. You just gotta be more careful heading out and away from civilization, that's all.

Mines and other traps are pretty useful out there. Keeps raiders and thieves away for the most part, but it also discourages some of the wildlife looking to turn you into dinner. The explosion is likely to wake you up too, so you can get the hell out of there if you need to. 'Course, some people just like to blow other people up.
