I wonder why there are no graves on this planet. It is a universal truth of archaeology that where there are settlements, there are graves. It may be internments, ashes and bone fragments of cremation, wall burials, sky burials, but all peoples must deal with their dead. And yet for all the ruins here...nothing.

[He's convinced that there must be burials somewhere. But it would suit his purposes just fine if he discovered a burial site (and the grave goods within) with no one else in a position to know or suspect.]

My apologies, where are my manners. I am Dr. Belloq, archeologist from Earth, year of our Lord 1936. These communicators, remarkable devices. It's very strange to think that to some here, I am a part of ancient history.

You have found remains? Can you show me where?

[tawarwaith]

I did not personally, but a skeleton was discovered while we were out investigating the area because of some interesting tracks that were found, and for the explosions that caused some problems not so very long ago.

As for showing you the location, I can, but I will tell you now it was no place special as far as I could see.

[archeologue]

I would very much like to see it anyway. Perhaps there is something hidden there.

[tawarwaith]

I am certain it is a the research facility within blackstaff. I cannot say for certain for myself, as I was there only to serve only as an extra pair of yes and to help keep our party safe. There had been some explosions prior to that, and the tracks of a creature not yet seen before.

[archeologue]

I will contact the researchers and ask them what has become of the skeleton. Still, I'd like to see the locus--the site where it was found.

[He wonders if the explosions might be traps of some sort, set by the ancient peoples to guard their temples and treasures. And perhaps they were set off by whatever animal made those tracks.]

[tawarwaith]

[IF he asked her that, she would be happy to tell her what she knew about the explosions... and how they happened near the wall and how only charred spider bits remained-- except for the one int he mines that took the lives of a few people.]

Certainly I would be glad to show you the place where we were investigating the tracks and found the skeleton. I will need to check with my superior if it is alright.

I understand. I would never wish to bypass the proper authorities. [ Belloq is a liar.]

[tawarwaith]

That is good. I find that they can be most helpful.

[She doesn't believe that is the case all the time either. She is just trying to behave.]
