[When Niko finally gets to the point, Boone just sort of stares at him. Almost as if he's trying to figure out if he heard that right. And once he realises that he did, it's his turn to struggle for words.]
Oh.
[He looks down at his hands, turning slightly red, and he's quiet for what feels like a long time. He wants to tell Niko that going down that path would be a bad idea, but he also doesn't want to assume that this is anything more than Niko being confused after being convinced he was going to die alone for a while. He probably just wants to be close to someone after all that time on his own. Boone still isn't sure he's the right person to be getting close to, but he has a feeling rejecting Niko will make him feel miserable. He doesn't want Niko to feel alone again. And really, he's not asking for anything more than friendship. He's just asking for a kiss. It doesn't have to be anything more than that.
The fact that he's considering it surprises him. And suddenly, he thinks back to the one time he figured that kissing Niko would be scratchy. He'd never had any desire to actually kiss him, but the thought had been there. Is he curious now? He's not sure. He resists the urge to turn back around and pour another drink, and finally finds his words again.]
You, uh... you sure that's a good idea?
[He glances up at Niko again. It's not a judging look. He doesn't think it's embarrassing. It's just a little difficult to process.]
Said you'd regret it. You really think you would?
[Because if he really thinks he'd be kicking himself later, he doesn't want that.]
