Narvin packs up his materials in the lab, putting them safely away. Yes, Jeffers said they would only be gone for three days by Quadratus relative time, but that’s no reason not to be tidy. Besides, he has a few projects that he doesn’t really want anyone accidentally stumbling across.

[Linda is sitting on a bench in the garden when she activates the feed. she's dressed casually in a coat and jeans, though her right hand visibly has a bandage around it. she looks tired, and she's obviously fallen in some mud at some point today as well]

Anybody else having trouble learning to ride their animals? [there's weariness in her tone. but a thought occurs to her then, and she adds:] Are many people going to be in the race? I know it's optional.

[while the mud is a result of her rocky attempts to learn to ride a "yoshi," her burned hand isn't. it's been a busy day, starting with testing forcefields with Agent K to try to find one like the dome followed by her riding session on the farm. needless to say, relaxing for a bit chatting with friends strikes her as a good way to end an exhausting day]

Alright, so a few days ago, this thing walked into my store, made a mess, and nearly gave me a heart attack. I tried to fight it off, but apparently it's harmless.

[The feed cuts to an image of a gross flesh golem clumsily exiting a small building. To anyone who's seen it before, it's the one belonging to Emilia Westmarch.]

I took a picture when it finally left. Anyone recognize it?

I would like to inform all imports that archeaologist Rene Belloq has turned himself in on charges of intent to murder and sell artefacts without authority to do so. As he is leveling some serious charges against himself it has been decided that he will be excused permanently from resort service. Rene Belloq from that particular timeline cannot be allowed to return to the resort. [And now comes the part of explaining what that means. That's not going to be a pain in the ass or anything.]

Many people here are aware of the events of their timeline. As a person acquainted with time travel in my universe, we typically have only one timeline. But contact with this universe and its unique properties means that there can be a variety of events divergent that create different timelines.

In layman's terms, this means that you might meet someone who does not share your exact experiences, or someone may come that doesn't recall being here. If another Rene Belloq should arrive, he will not be guilty of the same charges and may not have the same intentions or history, so please approach all familiar individuals with the knowledge that this is not the same person, but instead a markedly similar one.

If you have encountered alternate universes or are familiar with them, you may want to offer your own advice. Thank you for your time.

Ms Persson, it has come to our attention that you have been engaging the teleports for non-approved use. The teleporters require a large expenditure of energy, thus, as per regulation, they should be restricted to official use only. If petty revenge must be had, there is no shortage of cliffs near the facility, nor a shortage of scientists capable of making holograms which could produce the same effect you sought. In the future, therefore, do be more respectful of resort property.

As disciplinary action, I am assigning you to a day of mandatory teleporter operator’s school, and, on your next offworld trip, you must bring back a certain flowering plant not yet present in our gardens. The Rafflesia arnoldii. The samples must include both a live plant to place immediately in the garden, and seeds to replicate for further use.

[Jeffers likes rare flowers.

I wish to turn myself in. Any security personnel, you may come to my rooms at the resort and arrest me. I am unarmed and will not resist arrest.

I am guilty, very guilty. I have stolen artifacts and assisted in smuggling them off the planet, I have been guilty of associating with criminal organizations, I have willfully attempted to cause another man's death. I should be locked safely away for the good of the community.

[And safely away where Jabba and his bounty hunters and Orion thugs can't get to him, looking for a diamond sword that he doesn't have. Belloq knows that Jabba doesn't forgive people he thinks have stolen from him. Time in prison, with possibility of parole or escape, is better than becoming dinner for Jabba's pets.]

[Linda comes onto the network today actually dressed casually rather than in her patrol uniform; she's wearing a red T-shirt under a gray sweater jacket over jeans and boots. her hair is pulled back in a braid, and the ever-present engagement ring is on her hand. today of all days, she wants to be wearing it. because despite the dome and her relocation, she's still counted the days, and she knows that if none of that had happened, this would be it--this would be her wedding day. and having realized that, it's a thought she can't get out of her head]

Hey, is anybody free today? [her tone is casual, but there's something a little anxious in the way she's standing. she has her hands in front of her and is unthinkingly playing with the ring as well] I'm off, and I don't want to spend the day sitting around alone. I'll take you to lunch--my treat. Or...I don't know, a walk in the gardens, or even some games in the arcade? Maybe a drink at Pugsy's tonight. Sound good to anybody?

[she smiles, but it doesn't reach her eyes. still, despite the feelings she's fighting, she's determined not to spend today moping. she's going to distract herself with new friends and fun instead]
